Costa Rica, even with its small size, is famous for its incredibly diverse flora and fauna. The country boasts a staggering number of national parks that offer and preserve abundantly diverse plant and animal life. In addition, it has miles of unspoiled coastline.
The following tours fall into the three basic categories: Natural History; Adventure; Sightseeing.To ensure a safe and enjoyable tour the following items are strongly suggested: good boots, a rain poncho, light clothes, long pants, long-sleeved shirts, t-shirts, swimwear, sun block, a hat, and insect repellent. For the cooler parks in the highlands a sweater is also suggested. If you plan to spend time on one of the many beautiful beaches (Costa Rica literally means Rich Coast) or wish to take part in a river rafting excursion you will need to swimwear, shorts, sneakers, a towel, sandals, and sunblock (15 or higher). For those interested in recording the sights and sounds of the forest, light binoculars, a camera (300mm with a macro lens is best) and a small tape recorder are recommended.
Crafts are available in wood, pottery, leather, coffee products, metal, and bamboo. The choice is wide and there is something for every budget.
