A picture stop will be made at the highland town of Zarcero, which is famous for its topiary garden sculpted from Cyprus trees. Prior to your arrival in the Arenal region you will be stopping to enjoy a typical lunch. The Arenal volcano has been active since 1968 and the volcanic activity is very diverse. It will eject gases, water fumaroles, and explosions with pyroclastic emissions and may be accompanied by powerful thundering sounds. The Tabacón River originates in this fascinating "Mountain of Fire". The Tabacon Resort Hot Springs, will be your destination for the next few hours, this resort gives you the pleasure of a healthy and relaxing soak in the variety of hot springs pools. Be caressed by the cool night air while observing the stars and the incredible night sky above the volcano. Consider yourself fortunate if while soaking and sipping a drink at the wet bar you witness the Arenal Volcano as it erupts and spews red lava. Now relaxed it will be time to enjoy the sumptuous buffet dinner followed by your return to San Jose.
